Handbags for Hope

"Empowering our Youth through Change"

On Saturday, March 20, 2010, the Long Beach Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc, will host its 2nd Annual charity fundraiser, “Handbags for Hope: Empowering our Youth through Change” at The Grand Long Beach Event Center. Last year this event sold out and raised over $40,000 and this year's event promises to be even a bigger afternoon of dining, entertainment, designer “purse” bingo and extraordinary live & silent auctions. In addition, guests will have a chance to win luxurious gifts and chic handbags from some of the world’s top designers – all to benefit underserved children in Long Beach and surrounding communities! Our goal, this year, is to raise over $40,000 to address the needs of our at-risk youth who are struggling with escalating violence, drug and alcohol abuse and severe budget cuts in our treasured public schools.

In order to make “Handbags for Hope” a success, we need your help to reach our goal. We are seeking support from organizations, companies and benefactors in the form of cash contributions, new and gently used designer handbags, in-kind gifts, and other products and services. Proceeds raised from this event will benefit the Jack and Jill Foundation, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Long Beach and the Indira Hale-Tucker & Doris Cooper-Robinson Scholarship Fund. All contributions are tax-deductible and will be acknowledged in the program.
